Maintaining high visibility is critical for achieving a flawless finish. When paint overspray accumulates on your booth’s light lenses, overall brightness drops, compromising your finish quality. Use this universal checklist to restore light output and protect your equipment.

Step 1: Clear Heavy Overspray Buildup
If you do not currently use a protective barrier on your light glass lens and notice diminished brightness, the paint residue must be manually removed.
The Tool: Use a non-ferrous, non-sparking scraper to shave away baked-on overspray.
Safety Warning: Never use standard steel razor blades or steel scrapers, as they can spark in a volatile finishing environment.
Step 2: Replace Spent Protective Barriers
If you already use a preventative coating or film, replacing it takes only moments:
For Plastic Film Lenses: Locate the edges and cleanly remove the old plastic sheeting.
For Liquid Peelable Coatings: Use a utility knife to lightly score around the perimeter of the light fixture panel, then peel the film away from the lens surface.
Step 3: Reapply Protective Liners
Never leave clean light glass unprotected for the next spray cycle. Reapply your shop’s chosen defense immediately:
Option A (Clear Adhesive Film): Smooth a fresh sheet of clear, 2-mil plastic lens protector film over the glass.
Option B (Liquid Coating): Roll or spray a uniform layer of clear, water-based peelable booth shield directly onto the lens and let it dry completely.
