The GFS Grate Lifting Tool is designed to simplify the process of changing exhaust filters in a downdraft paint booth. Downdraft paint booths have floor grates that cover the filtration system, and these grates can be heavy and cumbersome to lift manually.
The GFS Grate Lifter does the heavy lifting for you, lifting and moving heavy floor grates so you can quickly and easily change the filters. The tool is made of heavy-duty metal to provide the necessary strength and durability to lift grates with ease.

To use the GFS Grate Lifting Tool, follow these steps:
1. Preparation: Before you begin, ensure that the paint booth is turned off. Also, make sure that the area around the grate is clear of any obstructions or debris that could interfere with the lifting process.
2. Positioning: Approach the floor grate that needs to be lifted. Align the lifting mechanism to the grate’s edge.
3. Engagement: Engage the lifting mechanism with the grate, which involves sliding it under the grate in a central location or at designated lift points. This may require some force, but the tool’s design will allow you to apply this force without putting undue strain on your body.
4. Lifting: Once the tool is properly engaged, use the handle and toe kick to lift the grate. The tool will do the heavy lifting for you, reducing the physical effort required. Lift the grate slowly and evenly to avoid any damage to the booth or the grate itself.
5. Moving: After the grate is lifted, you can use the tool to move it aside to expose the filter compartment. The tool’s heavy duty wheels allow for easy maneuvering of the grate.
6. Filter replacement: With the grate out of the way, you can now access the exhaust filters. Remove the old filters and replace them with new ones according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
7. Re-positioning: Once the new filters are in place, use the tool to lift the grate back into position. Carefully align it with the opening and lower it down.
8. Securing: Ensure that the grate is securely in place. Some grates may require you to lock them down or replace any screws or bolts that were removed for the filter change.
9. Safety Check: Before resuming work in the paint booth, make sure the grate is properly secured and that there are no loose parts or debris that could interfere with the booth’s operation.
